Painters balance on the colors of the painting (Ages 3-6)
Workshops (Ages 7-12)
The Vorres Museum organizes creative dance workshops for families with children aged 3 to 6 (children attending nursery, kindergarten, and first grade of primary school).
The theme of the third cycle is based on works from the Museum’s collection of contemporary Greek art, with an emphasis on wall-mounted works and, more specifically, paintings.
The presence and active participation of one parent or guardian per child is required.
1st Session
I roll, I slide, I spin, and I leave my traces in space. My routes are imprinted on white surfaces and create a map with different areas. Each one of these will become an occasion to unfold the palette of our qualities. Encounters, contrasts, and balances create a unique “painting.”
2nd Session
Frames and borders define what is inside and what is outside, so that I can enter, exit, or remain somewhere in between. Becoming familiar with concepts such as center, edge, high, low, near, far will help us compose the interior of a frame with colors and shapes we carry through our bodies. And these compositions, as we look at them, tell stories.
3rd Session
Shadows, reflections, and mirror images will sharpen the way we look at something still or a moving body. What do you illuminate, what do you see, where do you focus? How does light move in the half-dark? Shifts in roles—lighting designer, dancer, viewer—will lead us into a dreamlike play of light and shadow.
