Sania Strimbakou
Sania Strimbakou is a dancer and teacher of music-kinetic education, improvisation, and contemporary dance. She graduated from the State School of Dance (2000) and received a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation for further studies in contemporary dance and improvisation at Dance Space Center and Movement Research in New York (2002). From 2004 to 2008 she lived and worked in Amsterdam, attending dance workshops with renowned teachers.
Since 2000, she has performed in works by notable choreographers such as Konstantinos Michos, Maria Gorgia, Mariella Nestora, Angeliki Stellatou, Natasha Avra, Sofia Mavragani, Lenio Kaklea, Giorgos Siorras Deliyiannis, Pat Catterson, Pere Faura, Filio Louvari, Katerina Skiada, Marianna Kavallieratou, Agni Papadeli Rossetou, and Artemis Lampiri. She has also collaborated with Panagiotis Daramaras in the creation of visual performance works.
From 2003 to 2017, she taught contemporary dance and improvisation to adults. Since 2009, she has been teaching music-kinetic education to preschool children and contemporary dance to children of all ages. Since 2013, she has offered dance workshops for families with children aged 2.5–4 years (dancevacuum, Kinitiras Studio), as well as for families with infants aged 12–24 months (Onassis Stegi).
She coordinated and performed in the music-dance performance In the Land of Pouposgiati! for children up to 7 years old (2018–19, Kinitiras), as well as in the educational program Music-Dance Discoveries! for ages 1–3 (2021–2025, Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall). As part of the 31st Kalamata International Dance Festival, she led a workshop for elementary and high-school students (11–14 July 2025, Kalamata Dance Hall).
