After Hours: “Enthymio / Memento”
Live music performance
A musical dialogue on shifting landscapes, by Duo Hedi
The Vorres Museum presents the musical performance “Enthymio / Memento”, an original collaboration by Duo Hedi, developed in direct dialogue with the visual art exhibition Retrospectives: Selections from the Vorres Museum Collection. Mezzo-soprano Anastasia Kotsali and accordionist Kostas Zigeridis approach themes of memory and identity through the lens of a landscape undergoing rapid transformation.
Taking the Greek landscape as its point of departure—and its transformation from the early 20th century to the present—the program bridges works from the Museum’s collection with contemporary musical compositions. The audience will experience works by leading Greek composers such as Giannis Konstantinidis, Argyris Kounadis, and Giorgos Koumentakis, alongside creations by a younger generation, including Michalis Paraskakis and Apostolis Koutsoyiannis, among others. Many of these works will be presented for the first time in arrangements for accordion and voice.
The performance gains particular significance from the Museum’s location in Paiania. The Mesogeia landscape—once an emblematic reference point of Attic landscape painting—is now transforming under the pressure of urbanization and infrastructure development. The concert highlights the landscape not merely as a geographical reference, but as a carrier of experience and cultural continuity.
Through this interdisciplinary approach, “Enthymio / Memento” offers a multisensory experience, organically connecting contemporary art with place and memory.

Bio
Duo Hedi
Duo Hedi was founded by accordionist Kostas Zigeridis and mezzo-soprano Anastasia Kotsali. Their repertoire spans a wide range, with a focus on Baroque and contemporary music. They presented, for the first time in Greece, Toru Takemitsu’s songs at the Greek National Opera. They collaborate with prominent composers of the younger generation, such as Michalis Paraskakis and Apostolis Koutsoyiannis, who have composed works specifically for the duo. They have also collaborated with the Nova Melancholia group. To date, they have performed at venues including the Greek National Opera, the Zongolopoulos Sculpture Park, and the Epigraphic Museum of Athens, among others. The short film “Streaming”, directed by Ilias Madouros and featuring their musical composition, is included in the programming of GNO TV. They are currently recording, together with pianist Giorgos Konstantinou, the song cycle “Enas Omiros” by Mikis Theodorakis for the Greek National Opera.
