Retrospectively: Selections from the Vorres Museum collection
Exhibition
The exhibition Retrospectively: Selections from the Vorres Museum collection proposes a contemporary reading of its modern art collection through thematic sections that connect past and present, moving beyond a conventional chronological display.
Bringing together works from the postwar period to the late 20th century, it reveals lesser-known or rarely exhibited aspects of the collection — including works by Lili Arlioti, Giorgos Ioannou, Valerios Kaloutsis, and Dimitris Dokatzis — while also recontextualising significant works by artists such as Alexis Akrithakis, Panos Valsamakis, Niki Kanagini, and Jannis Kounellis.
Through these works, the exhibition brings forward themes that remain urgent today — including technology, the environment, public space, and identity — highlighting their enduring relevance. It reveals the tensions and inquiries that shaped modern Greek art and invites visitors to reconsider the past through a contemporary lens, reflecting on its connection to the present.
